Mangroves, Blue Carbon Markets, and 30x30 in Asia
Blue Action Fund
Description
This funding window supports the integration of area-based conservation with high-integrity blue carbon initiatives in mangrove ecosystems. Projects must establish new or improve existing management of protected areas (PAs) or other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs), covering a minimum of 1,000 hectares of mangroves, and demonstrate a credible pathway toward generating high-integrity carbon credits.
Eligibility
Charitable non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or consortia of NGOs with proven experience in mangrove conservation and blue carbon project development in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, or India. Match funding of at least 25% of total project costs is required.
